Millinery Summer School – Option 2
For those millinery students wanting to dip their toe into hat making, this is the perfect week. Geared towards beginners, Louise Macdonald will show you how to make a straw sun hat using traditional millinery techniques. Boater, fedora or perhaps you prefer a round crown; you'll learn about a milliner's main tools of trade, blocks, where to source materials and equipment, how to make a hat to fit a particular head size and a variety of finishing techniques.
You'll also make a tiara or halo style headpiece from wire under the tuition of Lauren Ritchie. Louise will also demonstrate trimming techniques: tulle pom poms and how to make a detachable veil. An action packed week of fun, connection and learning.
