Join us for an immersive and inspiring five-day hat making intensive that will take you on a journey into the world of millinery. Delve into the art of hat-making under the expert guidance of three acclaimed milliners: Louise Macdonald, Lynnette Lim from Love Lotus, and Catherine Ellen from The Essential hat.

Days 1 and 5: Freeform Parisisal Straw with Louise Macdonald
The traditional millinery blocks can be an expensive part of equipping your studio for a hobby in hatmaking. So here is an introduction in how you can create some amazing headpieces without blocks. Step into the world of contemporary millinery with the celebrated Louise Macdonald. Over two inspiring days, you will explore a range of contemporary techniques to create your own unique and stylish headpiece made from parisial straw. Louise will impart her wealth of expertise to equip you with the essential tools to sculpt your own traditional masterpieces from straw.

Day 2: Diorabella Hat Workshop using Jinsin with Catherine Ellen
Explore the intricate quality and possibilities of Jinsin as you work alongside the talented Catherine Ellen to create an elegant wide brimmed hat. You will gain valuable insights into shaping this wonderful material to create a truly distinctive piece.

Days 3 and 4: Contemporary Metallic Trims with Lynnette Lim
Add a little shimmer to your millinery with shiny metallic trims! Lynnette introduced this metallic material to the millinery industry and has mastered its manipulation into beautiful and modern trims with a difference. Learn how to cut, shape and assemble a variety of trims inspired by nature and, for the first time, learn Lynnette's method of staining the metal to create stunning shades, adding colour and dimension to your creations.

Whether you're a seasoned milliner looking to refine your skills or a passionate beginner eager to embark on a creative journey, this course offers a rare opportunity to learn from three accomplished artisans in the heart of the hat-making world.
